Purpose:Italy: Pozzuoli:  ? 'Temple of Diana'. View of a group of ruins, some vaulted, possibly the Temple of Diana at Pozzuoli, with a small path passing through broken walls and a distant landscape.

Notes

This view may be associated with the drawing of thermal ruins shown in Adam vol. 57/17 and may be the same scene shown from a different angle and somewhat closer. Both views probably depict the Temple of Diana at Pozzuoli, also shown in Paoli, Avanzi Delle Antichita Esistenti a Pozzuoli Cuma e Baja, Naples, 1768, pl.XXVII.

This drawing is on two joined sheets, similar to Adam vol.57/12, which is also by Charles-Louis Clérisseau.
