Notes

This small drawing, together with Adam vol.57/44 and 57/46, are on the same album leaf as vol.57/43 and on account of their subject-matter may be part of the drawings that form the 'Voyage de Naples' set. All three depict antique artefacts that may well have been seen by Robert Adam at Herculaneum or elsewhere around Naples in 1755.

The later pencil additions on the right continue onto the album leaf, showing they were added after the shhet had been pasted into the album.
