Notes

This view is a counterpart to that found in Adam vol.57/110, which shows the roofline of the Villa dei Medici, Rome with its two small cupolas on the façade more clearly. This drawing appears to have been made from the courtyard of the Orti Nari on the Via del Babuino, looking towards the roof of the Villa dei Medici and showing one of the belvederes, and the adjoining Pincio. Robert Adam's lodgings were in the Casa Guarnieri near the Villa Malta and on the other side of the Villa Medici at San Isidoro. Another counterpart to this drawing is found in Adam vol.57/151.
